First Fortnight Mullingar
First Fortnight arrives in Mullingar for an unmissable night of graffiti art, mental health talks and live music involving some of the town’s best local talent.
Ricotta Rojo are a three-piece band who will flip your world into a craze of rumbling rhythms, belligerent bass lines and memorable melodies.
Their blend of blues, funk and rock will be tempered by the swing and jazz from the Clara Swing Band. With around 20 band members to their name, only fellow performers the Mullingar PCC Choir – made up of local health workers from Mullingar Primary Care Centre – will outnumber them on stage.
Bobby & The Blunts are a four-piece power funk rock band who have played at Electric Picnic, headlined Whelan’s of Dublin and shared stages with everyone from The Blizzards to Mik Pyro. Local heroes done good, the band recently recorded their debut EP.
If that great music isn’t enough, the night will also boast live graffiti art from CowBoyDavie. There’ll be speakers too from the HSE’s Little Things mental health campaign and safeTALK – the HSE’s suicide alertness for everyone training programme.
